Expand our capacity for Pre-K

Every year, there is a waiting list for students to enter our exceptional Pre-K program, currently held at North Boulevard school. The popularity of our Pre-K program has caused that building to reach its limit for classroom space. And as we fill our Pre-K classrooms and shift incoming Kindergarten students to Stephen J. Gerace and Hillview schools, we have seen our elementary buildings all nearly filled to capacity, limiting our ability to expand enrollment in Pre-K. I have already begun conversations with my fellow Board members and Mr. Portas about how we can increase our capacity to bring the youngest learners into our district, so that they can begin their Panther journey with our talented, hard-working, well-trained early childhood educators. Why should Pequannock families have to look elsewhere for early childhood education when we have a proven and effective program right here in town that will equip their children with a mindset and skills that will continue to benefit them throughout their education? If re-elected, I will continue to discuss this and encourage our administration to seek all avenues possible for offering this high-quality learning experience to more Pequannock children.
